Ardurra worked with contractor Asphalt Group on this Florida's Turnpike Enterprise $368 million capacity project. The project revisions include an Alternative TTC plan, optimized Okeechobee Road Interchange, and modified pavement design along the mainline and ramps. The TTC design was enhanced in the Bid Plans to eliminate two major temporary bridges, enabling significant reduction in overall construction duration. At the NW 170 Street interchange, two major phases were eliminated, allowing for replacement of the mainline bridge to be completed in a single phase. Northbound and Southbound diversions were introduced following the future ramp alignments.
At Okeechobee Road, a Cost Savings Initiative (CSI) was introduced that added a median pier along US 27 and reduced the mainline profile by approximately 3 feet, creating major cost and time savings while optimizing the construction of the new US 27 overpass.
