Ardurra (CCI) has been a trusted consultant to Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) for over two decades, providing comprehensive surveying, traffic, and transportation engineering services since August 2001. Through 18 separate contracts with UT-Battelle, the U.S. Department of Energy's operating contractor for ORNL, our team has delivered continuous support for this premier research facility.
Our collaboration with ORNL encompasses a wide range of traffic and transportation solutions designed to enhance safety and efficiency across the laboratory's infrastructure. From field surveying and roadway design to traffic analysis and safety improvements, Ardurra's services have helped support ORNL's transportation network as operational needs have evolved.
Our work included the complete design of the main entrance roundabout intersection, guard portal approach, and departure lane design at multiple locations, as well as the design of traffic signals with evaluation and timing optimization. We conducted comprehensive traffic safety studies addressing site-specific challenges, parking analysis for various campus areas, and traffic calming solutions for internal roadway systems. Additional services included crosswalk studies and pedestrian safety improvements, traffic signing and pavement marking design, and transit strategy development and assessment.
