Oscelola County, Florida
This $192 million Design-Build project focuses on expanding and modernizing a 3.5-mile segment of Florida’s Turnpike (SR 91) from south of Clay Whaley Road to US-192 in Osceola County. The project involves the widening and reconstruction of the mainline, increasing capacity from four to eight lanes, with striping initially set for a four-lane facility to accommodate future growth.
A key feature of the project is the extension of Nolte Road from Old Canoe Creek Road, which will include a Diverging Diamond Interchange (DDI) with ramps to facilitate all movements to and from SR 91. The project also replaces two existing SR 91 bridges over the St. Cloud Canal and constructs two new overpass bridges along Nolte Road over SR 91, enhancing connectivity in the area.
Additional upgrades along the corridor include comprehensive drainage improvements, the installation of noise walls, signal and pavement markings, Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), lighting enhancements, toll facility upgrades, and the development of landscape opportunity plans. This project is a significant step forward in improving mobility, reducing congestion, and supporting sustainable growth in the region.
