Baker City,OR
We have completed many projects at Baker City Municipal Airport that address both airport safety and maintenance issues in critical aircraft movement areas. Working with Public Works, the Airport Board, and the Oregon Department of Aviation, we completed these projects on time and under budget and minimized the use of local funds.
Our most recent project at Baker City Municipal Airport shows how we work with clients, airport users, and the FAA to implement a multi-phase project. This project replaced failed pavements on both the North General Aviation GA Apron and the South GA Apron. Both aprons were in poor condition and had reached the end of their useful lives. Construction was phased to avoid impacts to businesses fronting these aprons.
The first year of construction rebuilt the North GA Apron in two phases to maintain access to the fuel island and FBO. This project also added a concrete fueling pad and 6,000 gallons of Jet A capacity to the existing fueling system. This project was completed on time and avoided lost revenue from an FBO closure or lost fuel sales from a fuel system shut down. The second year of construction reconstructed the South GA Apron in two phases to minimize the amount of time access was restricted to hangars located along the apron. This project also added concrete helipads to the new apron for use by firefighting helicopters.
