We are proud to congratulate Kenneth "Ken" Rosenfield, PE, ENV SP, F.ASCE, Senior Project Manager in our Newport Beach office, on being selected to receive the 2026 ASCE Presidents-Emeriti Award. The American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) Past Presidents' Committee chose Ken for the honor, which recognizes members whose service has shaped both the Society and the profession it represents.
This award is a fitting recognition of a career defined by leadership, generosity with his time, and a dedicated focus on the people civil engineering ultimately serves.
Honoring Leadership and Public Service
The Presidents-Emeriti Award is presented by ASCE's past presidents to recognize sustained, meaningful contributions to the Society and to the public. In selecting Ken, the committee cited his "outstanding leadership role in many ASCE committees and for his remarkable and sustained work dedication to the health, safety, and welfare of the public."
That citation captures what makes the award significant. It recognizes years of volunteer service on behalf of fellow engineers, and a commitment to the core responsibility at the heart of the profession: protecting the communities that rely on the infrastructure engineers design, build, and maintain.
A Career Built on Service
Ken's credentials reflect the breadth of his commitment. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (PE) and an Envision Sustainability Professional (ENV SP), bringing a focus on sustainable, resilient infrastructure to his work. He is also a Fellow of ASCE (F.ASCE), a distinction held by a small share of the Society's members in recognition of significant professional achievement.
As a senior project manager in our Newport Beach office, Ken leads projects with the same care he brings to his volunteer work. Colleagues and clients rely on him to guide complex projects from early planning through completion, keeping teams aligned and communities' needs in view at every stage.
Alongside his project work, Ken has given years of service to ASCE through leadership roles on many of its committees. His work has helped to set the direction of the profession, supported the next generation of engineers, and strengthened the standards that keep the public safe.
Accepting the Award in Reston
Ken was invited to accept the award at the ASCE Board of Direction meeting in Reston, Virginia, in October 2026. The presentation took place before the Society's leadership, an appropriate setting for an honor bestowed by those who have led ASCE themselves.
