Fast-track pharmaceutical expansion with clean rooms delivered in 8 weeks

Ardurra delivered civil and structural design services for a complex 45,000-square-foot expansion of a pharmaceutical production facility, successfully meeting stringent "fast track" schedule requirements while ensuring compliance with rigorous pharmaceutical manufacturing standards. The two-story addition features specialized second-floor "clean room" production capabilities supporting advanced pharmaceutical operations.

The structural design accommodated 16 16,000-liter vessels, supported on precision load cells through the floor, which required specialized framing to meet stringent deflection and rotational load-cell criteria essential for pharmaceutical production accuracy. Advanced fire separation systems included two 3-hour-rated CMU firewalls that separated the addition from existing production areas while maintaining operational continuity.

Key Project Highlights:

  • Designed a 45,000 SF two-story pharmaceutical expansion featuring specialized second-floor clean room production capabilities

  • Engineered support for sixteen 16,000-liter vessels on precision load cells, requiring stringent deflection and rotational criteria compliance

  • Implemented dual 3-hour rated CMU firewalls separating the new addition from the existing production while coordinating with current operations

  • Met Factory Mutual insurance requirements ensuring comprehensive risk management and regulatory compliance

  • Delivered construction drawings in 8 weeks from project award meeting, with an aggressive fast-track design and construction schedule

  • Provided complete construction administration, ensuring quality control and compliance throughout construction phases

  • Coordinated complex installation processes, including lateral wall support integration with existing building operations

The project demonstrates expertise in pharmaceutical facility design, meeting accelerated project timelines. Strategic coordination with existing operations ensured continuous production during construction, while establishing advanced manufacturing capabilities that support the pharmaceutical industry's growth requirements.
