Award-winning green infrastructure integrating flood control and community park

Ardurra delivered an innovative stormwater management project that integrates regional flood control, bioretention for water quality, recreational trails, and park amenities, and improves the contributing infrastructure systems. The facility combines essential stormwater management with community amenities, creating a pedestrian destination serving residents, workers, and visitors to the city center and downtown area.

The unique Green Infrastructure design features bioretention cells in series with a permanent pool equipped with aesthetic fountain elements, all integrated into a new public park setting. Educational components include landscaped walking trails with native plants, observation platforms, seating areas, and interpretive signage that educates residents and schoolchildren about water quality, channel protection, and green stormwater best management practices.
