City of Corpus Christi Reclaimed Water System Expansion

Ardurra is partnering with the City of Corpus Christi to design a major expansion of the city's reclaimed water infrastructure, connecting the Oso Water Reclamation Plant to the Greenwood Wastewater Treatment Plant to improve the reliability, capacity, and efficiency of the city's non-potable reuse system.

Key Highlights:

• Directly responds to an active municipal water crisis by expanding the City's non-potable reuse system to deliver up to 16 MGD of reclaimed water to industrial users, cutting potable water demand by approximately 16% as prolonged drought shrinks the City's western reservoir supply

• Creates a new effluent delivery link between the Oso Water Reclamation Plant and a proposed 10-million-gallon storage facility, redirecting treated wastewater that previously discharged into Oso Bay toward productive industrial reuse, benefiting both the community and the local ecosystem

• Shifts heavy industrial users, including refineries such as Flint Hills Resources, from municipal drinking water to recycled water, relieving pressure on the city's distribution system and preserving potable supply for residents

• Executed on an accelerated design schedule, moving from notice to proceed in November 2025 to 100% construction plans in June 2026, demonstrating Ardurra's ability to deliver critical infrastructure quickly under urgent conditions

• Advances a $107 million investment in the Coastal Bend's long-term water resilience, deepening Corpus Christi's six-decade legacy of non-potable reuse and positioning the city to better manage future drought cycles

By redirecting treated effluent away from local bays and estuaries and putting it to work for industry, this project delivers a practical, lasting solution to one of the region's most pressing challenges — protecting drinking water reserves while supporting economic activity and environmental health across the Coastal Bend.
