Ardurra provided engineering services for Richmond Street improvements located between El Segundo Boulevard and Holly Avenue for three long blocks within the downtown area of the City. Design work included street, sidewalk, parking, survey, traffic, and landscape improvements. A critical issue was solving the impacted downtown parking problem by engaging the community in outreach meetings and providing street, sidewalk, and parking design solutions. The project included the design of numerous bulbouts, severely constrained curb ramps, pedestrian and street lighting, pavement widening, and rehabilitation and drainage improvements. As a subconsultant to Ardurra, Cornerstone Studios designed a City-themed landscape treatment that incorporated several design treatments from different parts of the City.
