Terminal Renovation and Expansion (TREX) Program
Spokane, WA
A First Impression as Bold as the Inland Northwest
Ardurra’s civil engineers and landscape architects partnered with Alliance and WAG on the Spokane International Airport’s Terminal Renovation and Expansion (TREX) Program, a plan to support the airport’s long-term vision of expanding and modernizing its terminal to meet the growing passenger demand in the Spokane/Coeur d’Alene region.
With a focus on enhancing the passenger experience, our landscape architects collaborated closely with airport leadership to design a welcoming passenger plaza at the west end of the terminal expansion. This flexible space serves as a safe, comfortable transition area for travelers arriving or departing, while also providing opportunity for overflow events with ample open space and showcases the beauty of the region with locally sourced basalt columns and a vibrant, drought-tolerant plant palette, offering travelers a warm and memorable first impression of the Inland Northwest.
Key Highlights:
-
The project provides outdoor space for travelers to experience the area's beauty.
-

-
The project supports the airport's goals of expansion and modernization.
