Boise Airport Multiple Projects
Boise, ID
The Ardurra team has delivered comprehensive airport infrastructure services at the Boise Airport since 2010, successfully managing complex projects that range from boundary surveys to critical airfield pavement repairs and parking garage construction. The team's extensive experience in this complex operating environment enables responsive solutions across diverse project types while maintaining continuous airport operations.
The Idaho Transportation Department (ITD) Hangar and Taxilane S project required complete facility relocation to accommodate passenger traffic growth, involving new hangar and office construction, utility extensions, access development, and taxilane extension for airfield connectivity. Working closely with airport staff and ITD, Ardurra delivered integrated survey, airside, and landside design, architectural, and utility services. The modern, efficient facility design considered future aviation development plans, including additional hangar capacity in the southeast airport area.
Concourse B pavement reconstruction addressed severe rutting and fatigue problems affecting Boeing 737-900 operations and multiple airline schedules. The project replaced deteriorated asphalt between the adjacent taxilane and concrete parking spots with durable concrete pavement, requiring precision phasing to minimize operational impacts.
The four-phase construction approach allowed for only one gate closure at a time, enabling airlines to maintain their schedules while ensuring efficient contractor operations. Close coordination with airport staff resulted in a phasing plan that balanced construction efficiency with operational continuity, demonstrating expertise in complex airport project management.
These projects showcase Ardurra's ability to deliver critical infrastructure improvements while maintaining the operational integrity essential to major airport facilities.
