Denver International Airport Concourse B Regional Gate Reconfiguration
Denver, CO
Fueling Efficiency at One of America's Busiest Airports
Ardurra serves as the aviation fuel subject-matter expert for United Airlines' Concourse B South Finger reconfiguration, converting nine CRJ/E145-capable gates into seven larger gates that accommodate E175 aircraft and support rapid regional passenger growth. The project transitions from aviation refueler trucks to in-ground hydrant fueling, reducing aircraft ground time and enabling efficient operations at one of the nation's busiest airports, handling up to 2.2 million gallons of fuel daily.
Key Responsibilities:
- Leading aviation fuel design, construction, and commissioning, including new fuel vault, nine fueling hydrants, Emergency Fuel Shut Off (EFSO) stations, grounding, bonding, cathodic protection, and D2 Temporary Flushing Facility modifications
- Coordinating with Airport Operations, Airline Fuel QA, Fuel Committee, Fuel Operations, CMARs, and subcontractors to minimize disruptions to critical fuel delivery operations
- Overseeing fuel system methodology development, ensuring design compliance with current standards, and implementing process improvements for planning and execution
- Serving as liaison between United Airlines, program management, and airport stakeholders while preparing project reports, analyses, and technical approvals advancing fuel system implementation
The hydrant fueling conversion optimizes gate utilization and operational efficiency, supporting Denver International Airport's capacity expansion while maintaining uninterrupted fuel delivery to thousands of daily flights. Ardurra's specialized expertise ensures seamless integration of upgraded infrastructure within active airport operations, enabling faster aircraft turnaround times and enhanced service reliability for United Airlines' growing regional network serving Denver's expanding passenger market.
