Eagle Sewer District Force Main

Eagle, ID

24-inch force main through sensitive habitat using directional drilling.

Ardurra delivered engineering services for the Eagle Sewer District's critical 24-inch sewer force main, which connects the ESD treatment facility to West Boise Wastewater Treatment Works, providing adequate flow capacity for the complete build-out of the district's service boundary. The project required strategic routing analysis through sensitive wildlife habitats and limited undeveloped areas suitable for easement acquisition.

The alignment extends along State Highway 44 through Eagle's urban core, traversing three different developments and requiring two river crossings. Advanced construction techniques, including nearly half a mile of horizontal directional drilling, minimized environmental impacts while navigating complex permitting requirements and sensitive ecological areas.

Key Project Highlights:

  • Connected ESD treatment facility to West Boise Wastewater Treatment Works, providing regional wastewater capacity solutions

  • Designed a 24-inch force main with adequate flow capacity supporting the complete build-out of the Eagle Sewer District service boundary

  • Navigated sensitive wildlife habitats through strategic routing analysis, minimizing environmental impacts and easement requirements

  • Executed nearly 0.5 miles of horizontal directional drilling, avoiding surface disruption through Eagle's urban corridor

  • Completed two river crossings using advanced trenchless construction techniques, preserving waterway integrity

  • Secured extensive multi-agency permitting coordinating with ITD, IDL, Army Corps of Engineers, and the City of Eagle

  • Traversed three developments along SH-44, requiring complex coordination through Eagle's commercial and residential areas

The project delivery provides the Eagle Sewer District with essential regional connectivity, while supporting future growth capacity. The strategic use of horizontal directional drilling and comprehensive permitting coordination ensured environmental protection, establishing critical wastewater infrastructure for long-term community development.
