Fast Track Hanford

Ardurra's funding team secured a $15,533,000 RAISE grant for the City of Hanford after a previous application attempt failed, achieving the fourth-highest award in California among only 11 funded state projects. The Fast Track Hanford project transforms a 0.8-mile downtown corridor connecting the Hanford Amtrak Station to Tenth Avenue, integrating critical multimodal transportation infrastructure, including Historic China Alley, Civic Center Park, and the new Kings Area Rural Transit (KART) regional transit station.

Project Components:

• Roadway and intersection safety improvements implementing the USDOT Safe Systems approach, with ADA upgrades ensuring accessibility throughout the corridor
• Two enhanced bus stops, wayfinding signage, micromobility amenities, lighting improvements, and stormwater management infrastructure
• Electric vehicle charging stations and electronic information displays supporting sustainable transportation options
• Comprehensive engineering design, public outreach, and construction implementation funded through the award

Ardurra refined the grant application through detailed review and strategic repositioning, resulting in selection from approximately 138 projects funded nationwide in FY 2025. The corridor establishes seamless connections between Hanford Amtrak Station, the new KART Transit Station, and the future Kings-Tulare High-Speed Rail Station, eliminating mobility barriers and expanding affordable transit access. This infrastructure investment catalyzes downtown revitalization and small business growth while strengthening collaboration among transit partners and historical preservation organizations, positioning Hanford as a regional multimodal hub serving diverse community transportation needs.
