Methow Street Improvements

Wenatchee, WA

Improving pedestrian and bicycle safety on a key Wenatchee corridor

Ardurra delivered the final design for the Methow Street Improvements project in Wenatchee, WA, a federally funded Safe Routes to School initiative addressing pedestrian and bicycle safety along a high-use corridor near Lincoln Elementary School. The project adds new sidewalks, upgraded ADA curb ramps, and dedicated bicycle facilities where none previously existed.

Key Highlights:

  • Designed a mini-roundabout at Methow Street and Crawford Avenue to reduce vehicle speeds and improve pedestrian crossing safety
  • Added connected bike lanes, increasing north-side bicycle access to Lincoln Elementary School and surrounding residential neighborhoods
  • Incorporated waterline replacement, full roadway grind and overlay, and curb ramp upgrades at five intersections
  • Completing final construction documents with construction scheduled for spring/summer, including bidding and construction management support

The project delivers safer, more connected streets for Wenatchee's students and families while replacing aging water infrastructure, all within a federal grant framework designed to maximize community benefit.
