Peddie Lake Dam Pedestrian Bridge

Ardurra provided design and construction administration services for the Peddie Lake Dam Pedestrian Bridge project in Hightstown, NJ, funded through the federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and administered by the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT). The project scope encompassed furnishing, construction, and installation of a new pedestrian bridge, concrete foundation repairs to the existing dam structure, installation of electrical conduits for walkway lighting, removal and reconstruction of sidewalk and stairs to comply with ADA standards, demolition of bulkheads, walls, railings, and handrails, construction of ramps, stone knee walls, and planters, relocation of existing light fixtures, grading and landscaping, and coordination with NJ Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) and Safety. Ardurra's field director provided full-time detailed inspections to ensure construction was completed in conformance with the approved plans, specifications, FHWA and NJDOT requirements, and the Borough of Hightstown's General Permit Program Policies and Procedures Handbook. Ardurra also provided construction administration services including reviewing the contractor's baseline schedule prior to construction, arranging and leading the preconstruction meeting, shop drawing review support, review of change orders and contract payments, providing progress reports, and obtaining project close-out documents.
