Logan, NJ

Transforming a Forgotten Skate Park into Active Recreation Space

Ardurra provided engineering design and construction management services for the redevelopment of Township Line Park in Logan, NJ, converting a vacant, deteriorating skate park into six full-feature pickleball courts while upgrading existing basketball courts to current standards.

Key Highlights:

  • Full-depth removal of existing asphalt, walkways, and concrete pads, along with demolition of an 8-foot chain link fence and 10-foot masonry wall, created a clean slate for the expanded court footprint

  • Six new pickleball courts installed with hot mix asphalt base and surface courses, acrylic resurfacing, color coating, line striping, and complete net systems

  • Enhanced drainage solutions with optimized surface grading to manage stormwater runoff across the expanded asphalt area

  • In-house geotechnical engineer conducted a stabilization review and resolved unstable soil conditions identified during construction, preventing delays

  • New 10-foot vinyl chain link fencing, windscreen panels, park benches with concrete pads, and seeded site restoration completed the finished recreational environment

Close coordination with Township officials ensured a safe construction process with minimal disruption to park users. The completed facility delivers dedicated outdoor recreation space directly serving the community's growing pickleball program.
