SR 31 Extension PD&E from SR 70 to US 17

Ardurra conducted the SR 31 Extension PD&E Study evaluating social, cultural, natural, and physical effects of constructing a new alignment extending SR 31 from its current terminus at SR 70 northward to connect with US 17. The study addresses critical transportation needs in central DeSoto County while supporting Arcadia's downtown revitalization by reducing vehicular through-traffic interactions with bicyclists and pedestrians.

The project analyzes transportation improvements enhancing safety by separating regional truck traffic from downtown Arcadia's pedestrian and bicycle activities, while supporting economic development goals identified in local future land use plans. Strategic alignment alternatives improve traffic operations by redirecting regional through-traffic around downtown areas, supporting mobility for people and goods movement throughout central DeSoto County.
