Ardurra served as the construction manager and inspector for the $15.4 million pedestrian and bicycle bridge project, ensuring that the 210-foot structure and surrounding amenities met rigorous Greenbook and Caltrans standards, while providing safe connectivity at Superior Avenue and Pacific Coast Highway. The project enhanced community access to Sunset Ridge Park and nearby beaches by integrating sustainable design and expanding recreational infrastructure.
The eco-friendly bridge features bioswales for stormwater management, low-wattage LED lighting that reduces energy consumption, and improved landscaping that supports sustainable transportation objectives. Additional amenities include a 129-space parking lot, expanded green space, stormwater drainage improvements, a drop-off area, a bicycle fix-it station, and a drinking fountain, all supporting diverse community recreation needs.
