Ardurra partnered with the City of Laredo, Texas — a community of more than 260,000 residents — to modernize its water quality monitoring and management processes through advanced data analytics, predictive modeling, and digital transformation. The project focused on improving visibility into water quality conditions across the City's distribution system while equipping utility staff with actionable insights to support proactive operational decision-making.
Ardurra developed a data management and analytics framework that integrates water quality data from 37 testing sites across the city's service area. The team replaced manual data collection processes with electronic forms, reducing data availability delays from approximately 72 hours to near real-time access. Interactive dashboards deliver a centralized view of water quality conditions, historical trends, and system performance across all 37 monitoring locations.
To support predictive decision-making, Ardurra applied statistical and machine learning techniques — including regression analysis, moving averages, artificial neural networks, SARIMA, and hybrid LSTM-SARIMA models — to forecast critical water quality parameters up to seven days in advance. This capability allows utility staff to identify potential issues before they affect operations or customers.
