Ardurra corrected critical electrical deficiencies at four Canyon Regional Water Authority facilities, where improperly sized infrastructure created dangerous conditions that would have compromised emergency generator systems during utility power failures. The project required a comprehensive evaluation and redesign of the electrical system to ensure reliable backup power.

Key Accomplishments:

  • Evaluated 480V three-phase electrical distribution systems at each facility, assessing main breakers, automatic transfer switches (ATS), bus ratings, conductor sizing, and generator capacity against code requirements and operational demands

  • Identified critical undersized components, including conductor runs, main breakers, and ATS units that failed to meet proper ampacity ratings, documenting deficiencies affecting system reliability and personnel safety

  • Verified existing generator capacity met facility requirements, eliminating the need for costly equipment replacement

  • Designed electrical system upgrades, including the replacement of undersized distribution components, reconfigured underground ductbank systems, and expanded generator pads to accommodate properly sized wiring connections

The corrected infrastructure ensures emergency generators function reliably during utility outages, protecting critical water system operations serving the Cibolo community.
