We are the Engineer of Record for 9 (7 permanent, 2 temporary) bridges including the eastbound and westbound SR 836 bridges over I-95 for the I-395/SR 836/I-95 Design-Build Project. This reconstruction project that improves capacity and safety in three of Miami-Dade’s highways, SR 836, I-95, and I-395, contains 3rd and 4th level structures including Category 2 substructure elements such as straddle piers, augercast foundations, and elements designed for construction loads from beam launchers used for setting beams. Other bridges included widenings of steel plate girder structures and prestressed concrete beams. We were also EOR for retaining walls and overhead monotube structures along SR 836, and assisted the contractor with plans for phased demolition of existing structures to be replaced.
