Cedar City Regional Airport
Master Plan

Cedar City, UT

Ardurra delivered an Airport Master Plan for Cedar City Regional Airport, a Part 139 facility serving flight training and aerial firefighting operations. Working closely with the city and airport board, the team conducted specialized analysis of a proposed expensive runway extension project that would have significantly disrupted operations and shifted aviation impacts to new neighborhoods.

Through customized public education initiatives and focused demand analysis, Ardurra identified that the runway extension was not the highest priority for community needs at that time. This strategic assessment prevented unnecessary infrastructure disruption while ensuring the Master Plan truly addressed Cedar City's unique operational requirements.

Key Project Highlights:
•    Prevented costly runway extension project through comprehensive unmet demand analysis
•    Eliminated potential disruption to existing infrastructure, NAVAIDs, and community traffic patterns
•    Delivered customized public education program exceeding standard Master Plan requirements
•    Focused specialized analysis on users and aircraft requiring runway extension capabilities
•    Maintained full FAA compliance while addressing unique community priorities

The successful project delivery balanced technical aviation requirements with community impact considerations, establishing a framework for future airport development that serves both operational needs and local priorities.
