Ontario Sports Complex
Ontario, CA
Ardurra delivered engineering and construction support for all off-site improvements supporting the Ontario Sports Empire, projected to become the premier sports and entertainment destination in the West. ONT Field will host a single-A Dodger affiliate, Ontario Baseball, with 6,500 seats, along with live entertainment and other events. Spanning 190 acres, the complex features 20 long fields, 14 youth diamond fields, 8 full-size diamonds, 4 football/rugby fields, and 2 championship diamond fields, making it the largest complex of its kind west of the Rocky Mountains. The project was fast-tracked with the entire stadium, parking structure, and offsite improvements designed and constructed within 3 years. Engineering services included street, landscaping, drainage, sewer, water, and recycled water improvements; traffic signals; street lighting; ITS; and Southern California Edison high-voltage power relocations and Rule 20 undergrounding of the power distribution system.
Key Highlights:
- Fast-tracked design into two bid packages to ensure all major infrastructure completion prior to Opening Day, April 2026
- Implemented trenchless construction with approximately 5,000 feet via auger bore and jack and 1,300 feet via pilot tube microtunneling due to sewer depths exceeding 25 feet
- Coordinated with stakeholders to incorporate requirements and streamline approvals while addressing narrow street widths and existing infrastructure constraints
The project enabled the City of Ontario to deliver the largest sports complex west of the Rocky Mountains on an accelerated timeline while coordinating complex infrastructure improvements and stakeholder requirements to support Opening Day and future development.
