Ardurra is providing Traffic Engineering Services for Houston METRO’s Red Line Intersections Safety Study.

The purpose of the project is to perform an independent safety study of intersection crossings along the Red Line including Fannin/Sunset and Fannin/Cambridge. The study will result in a traffic engineering report with recommendations to improve safety from pedestrian and bicycle user perspective.

Services provided by Ardurra for the project include:

• Field investigations to observe pedestrian and bicycle patterns at the Study Intersections
• Build of weekday AM and PM SYNCHRO model to evaluate long-term intersection configuration change to improve safety
• Evaluate and recommend safety treatments at intersections to include probable cost estimates for initial implementation and maintenance

Ardurra is assisting METRO with coordination of safety improvement plans with the City of Houston.
